Helping people enjoy archery is at the heart of what our company does. If you/ your family have never tried archery before then we have archery courses to satisfy your needs. We provide all necessary archery and safety equipment, maintained to the highest possible standards.     We also support companies (who offer archery as an activity) to ensure their employees are trained to the highest standards which their customers expect. All archery courses can be held during the week or at weekends.

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme:

Are you wishing to do archery as part of your Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme? Are you working towards your Bronze, Silver or Gold level Award?

MRM Archery has worked in partnership with Duke of Edinburgh Scotland to produce a comprehensive booklet on what you require to know about doing archery as part of your DoE scheme award.

As the various levels of the award focus on commitment and regular activity MRM Archery coaches will put you through an initial Beginners course and, on successfull completion, assist you in gaining membership of an archery club to enable you to continue your practice.

The beginners course will help you understand and appreciate the basic rules of shooting and scoring; the safety rules; the names of the pieces of equipment and how to prepare them ready to shoot and the importance of warm up exercises prior to shooting.

Please contact us for further information or to book a course.

Individual Coaching:

With over 60 years experience of coaching archers throughout the UK to National Team level and having competed at International level ourselves, we are eager to help other archers achieve the knowledge, experience and success which we have achieved.  We are therefore confident we have the credentials to help you move to the next level in your archery career.
No matter how long you have been shooting, a dedicated Coach can help guide and inspire you to greater scores and success.

Coaching packages can be arranged at an hourly rate (minimum of 2 hours) for individuals and for groups - a minimum of 4 people and up to 8 people (minimum 3 hours). Coaching can be carried out during the week or at weekends.

Our individual coaching will focus on improving your shooting technique, designing a robust shooting plan, addressing obstacles which prevent higher scores, goal setting, body alignment and in depth equipment tuning.

Specialist packages can be tailored to the individual or groups’ needs.

Training Courses for Activity Companies and Archery Businesses

At MRM Archery we understand how important it is to the successful running of your organisation to have well trained and motivated employees. We have introduced a range of training courses to help your organisation ensure that your employees are kept up to date with the archery skills required to offer the services that your customers have come to expect.

Instructor Course:

The Archery GB Instructor Award was introduced by MRM Archery in November 2014 and it is designed to be used by professionals and volunteers (17 years and over) working outside of the Archery GB club structure, for example in sport centres, outdoor education centres, adventure and holiday parks and youth associations. To gain the qualification you require no previous archery experience. Full support is provided by our course tutor throughout the course. The course takes place over 2.5days and includes two assessment tasks to become competent.  Each candidate who successfully completes the assessment will be awarded with the Instructor Award certificate, valid for 3 years. This course is recognised as THE Industry Standard.
Please Note: Anything other than the former 4-DAY GNAS/ARCHERY GB Archery Specific Community Sports Leader Course (including the assessment) or the new Instructor Award, is NOT recognised by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA), the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA), SportscoachUK or any other Government Agencies & National Bodies and should be avoided.

The Instructor Award is the only training course accredited by Archery GB (the UK governing body for archery) for providers of archery activities in the UK. (www.archerygb.org)

Our staff are accredited by Archery GB to Tutor, Certificate and Assess the Instructor Award.  We can provide courses which can be run at a time and venue convenient to your organisation.

If you are interested in arranging a course for your organisation or you are an individual seeking an opportunity to join a course that may have vacancies, contact us to discuss your requirements.

We offer you excellent service and competitive pricing - this makes MRM Archery Ltd the No 1 choice for Instructor Training across Scotland.

Instructor Extra Workshop:

With Archery, Safety Is Paramount and is something which cannot be compromised. The new shorter Instructor course does not cover equipment maintenance in great detail and MRM Archery can offer you a bolt-on 2 hour workshop to cover this topic in the detail your staff require.

Archery equipment can often be subjected to some rough treatment throughout the year so how can you be sure it is safe to use?  Your customers deserve and expect to use archery equipment which is ‘fit for purpose’ and maintained to the highest possible standards. However with the increasing complexity of equipment together with the demands placed on you by your insurers and your customers, it is vital that your archery equipment is inspected on a regular basis.

This 2 hour workshop is tailor made to give your Instructors the knowledge and practical skills to be able to assess the condition and suitability of your equipment, recognise common problems associated with modern archery equipment and carry out any necessary repairs.

It is recommended that your organisation carries out regular maintenance checks on your equipment and records all repairs undertaken – this may be required by your insurers.

Our staff, accredited by Archery GB, can not only help you ensure your archery equipment is maintained to the highest standards but also ensure that you are confident in the safety and well being of both your employees and your customers.

Contact us for further details and to book a workshop.

Leaders/ Instructor Refresher Course:

Is it a while since your staff went through their Community Archery Leader or Instructor Course? Would they benefit from a refresher session by fully experienced archers and trained coaches? Then we can arrange to undertake a full or half day refresher course at your venue. Our staff can help ensure your employees are trained to the highest standards ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both your employees and your customers.

This course will focus on identifying any issues experienced by your staff, ensuring they can shoot to an acceptable standard and how to overcome any obstacles. This refresher course can be tailored to meet your staff’s requirements and arranged at a time suitable to you/your staff.
